Chronic Disease Prevention

WHLM advocates for an intersectional, gender-responsive approach to chronic disease prevention.

Women’s Health Loddon Mallee embeds a gender lens into chronic disease prevention, recognising that women’s health outcomes are shaped by social, economic, and cultural factors.

We work in partnership with organisations across the Loddon Mallee to strengthen gender‑equitable approaches to prevention and ensure strategies are inclusive and responsive to the diverse experiences and needs of women in our region.

Chronic Disease in the Loddon Mallee

Drawing on local data from each of the 10 local government areas in the Loddon Mallee, we’ve created a series of data snapshots that highlight the prevalence of chronic disease among women in our region.

Embedding Equity in Chronic Disease Prevention

The Embedding Equity project supports health promotion practitioners to apply gender-transformative and intersectional approaches to chronic disease prevention. Co-designed with regional partners, it provides practical tools, training and resources to help embed equity across policy, programs and practice.
