Equity in health and wellbeing for women of the Loddon Mallee region.
To lead cultural and structural change to improve women’s lives based on a deep understanding of women’s experiences and stories.
WHLM continually reviews and refines our suite of capacity building workshops and opportunities with the aim of building primary prevention skills, knowledge, and confidence. Our participants include communities and workforces in the health sector, community services, local government, education, response organisations, community sports clubs, and more. Our regional capacity building has covered a range of topics within our 5 key focus areas, with key emphasis on promoting cultures of gender equality, inclusion, and respect; improving health literacy; and increasing understanding of primary prevention of gendered violence.
Collaborative partnerships are essential to our primary prevention initiatives, allowing for cross-sectoral connections and greater impact to reach shared goals. This year WHLM has continued to grow connections with a diverse range of organisations, governments, clubs, and community groups to cultivate cultures of respect and equality across our whole region.
WHLM provides advisory support and representation to community groups and Primary Prevention of Violence Against Women, Gender Equality, Mental Health & Wellbeing, Climate, and Health Promotion networks, working groups, and Communities of Practice within the Loddon Mallee Region and across Victoria, including:
Sector engagement: Agriculture, Community Health, Community groups (ZONTA, Salvation Army, CWA, neighbourhood houses), Local and state government, Disability, Early years, Education, Emergency services, Health, Libraries, media, Multicultural services, Multifaith community organisations Not for profit, Prevention, Public sector, Response services, Social services, sporting clubs/associations, Support services, University, Youth services.
