Respectful Relationships Education (RRE) is one of the 227 recommendations taken up by the State Government since the release of the Royal Commission into Family Violence in March 2016.

RRE is a primary prevention family violence initiative which promotes safe, equal and respectful relationships from an early age. The program aims to shift societal attitudes, systems and structures by promoting and normalising gender equality and non-violent forms of communication.

WHLM’s key role has been providing professional development to RRE school staff which provides context as to why RRE has been mandated in all Victorian Government schools and the links between gender inequality and family violence.
